Nov 23, 2011. There is a Kannada TV Serial 'Shri Guru Raghavendra Vaibhava' aired in Suvarna Channel every night from 10PM to 10:30PM. This is the best serial I have seen since very very long. All in our family enjoy the episodes. As the name suggests, the serial is the life history of Shri Guru Raghavendra Swamy.
Guru Raghavendra Vaibhava is a devotional series which came onthe channel Suvarna TV. The show is a Kannada language one which came on every weekday between Monday and Friday during the time slot of 10:00 PM to 10:30 PM. It premiered on Indian television on 21st June 2010. Since its launch, it rapidly attained immense popularity amidst the viewers.
The program tells the saga of the life and times of one of the greatest Hindu Vaishnava saints, Sri Raghavendra Teertharu, who walked this Earth in the years between 1595 and 1671 AD chiefly in the southern regions of India. This also marks the first attempt at televising his great story for the Indian television amidst the Kannada speaking population. This series has gotten produced by the house of M.S. Ramaiah Media and Entertainment Pvt.
They have undertaken this gargantuan task of telling this epic tale on an equally grand scale. The story kicked off by showing us the great man in his pre-sainthood days when he lived like we do. It takes us across the different aspects of his life as well as the daunting scenarios he encountered before going on and attaining sainthood. The various characters portrayed in this series, who belong to a time set right before the oncoming of the saint, sets the stage of the story and the dawn of Sri Raghavendra Teertharu. The screenplay has gotten penned following a lot of in-depth and analytical research. The direction of the show also reflects this a lot. Guru Raghavendra Teertharu has been widely worshiped throughout the state of Karnataka by all without barriers of caste or creed coming into the picture. Hosamane Murthy, who is the art director for the series, has recreated the era of the 14th and the 15th- century palaces, and the other sets in order to give a realistic representation of the saint’s early days.
The story kicks off at the time of the great saint’s grandfather shifting base to Kumbhakonam along with his family in the search of refuge following the decline of the kingdom of Vijayanagara. Many interesting stories from the early life of the saint, the miracles he performed have been woven into the tale and these prove to be an interesting watch.
