Of course it's a shame they charge 80 bucks, but the software is written by a company outside of Moog. It's the same company that developed the current editor: one of the most dreadful, counterintuitive pieces of software currently running on my Mac. Already been reading on the Moog forum that the new plugin seems to have some major problems and a demo without any functionality. I really wished that the company that gave us Animoog and Filtatron came up with some better alternatives for controlling your Voyager. Might be being greedy here, but i think it should come free with the HW or to HW owners.

Currently I have a Little Phatty mk2. I use it as an 'external instrument' in logic in a very simple manner: I play the synth and record the midi (no filter automation is recorded, just keys pitch and mod wheel). Once I'm happy, I record the audio in, bypass that external instrument/AU track and move onto the next track, and repeat. I actually name the midi/external instrument track the name of the LP preset I used and then in the logic notes section I make a note of what I changed (filter poles to 2, moved resonance to 12 o'clock rtc). Maybe i'll feel differently once i actually try this plugin, but for me, the physical touch of the Voyager instrument is what made me trade in the RME for the full keyboard (not XL). I love recording realtime hands on tweaks, makes things a lot livelier. At least for this instrument. But some types of music i can see plugin will be very useful.True especially the voyager trumps most other synths I know in regard of knob/interface quality. HOWEVER, it is fantastic to have the patch within the project, and while recording maybe tweak a little thing.

Especially if coming back after a while, in order to gain an overview of the settings again etc.
